I topographic maps in the past, and many of them are useless when the road is long. We plan for 71 mile High Sierra Trail, and this map contains all the essential information we need for that week. Can I use some high resolution imagery for the more technical part of the journey, but not necessarily. This will be keeper!

Read more Reviews I am an experienced backpacker to the Grand Canyon, and decided that it would be good to get new maps. One thing that is different from previous National Geographic map is that the Grand Canyon is divided into 2 separate cards, it's Grand Canyon East 262nd # Great advantage to have 2 cards is that the Grand Canyon West shows all the way to Lake Mead. This means that the road that worked: Kanab Creek Trail (including many trips to the north of Kanab Creek), and road routes Tuckup, Route Lava Falls Trail Whitmore Canyon Parashant route, RIM and other means. Only negative to have 2 cards, is just that you have 2 maps. In addition, the map also offers a wide range of information on tourism in the canyon, permits, etc. I would recommend this to all tourists of the Grand Canyon.

The map is constructed with materials resistant to weather, which seems to last long. The map is easy to read and has lots of color codes that are easier to follow. I am very happy with the purchase.
Natl Geo These maps are amazing! May be a bit "more expensive and not as difficult as it claims to be, but the general aesthetic quality of these maps are at right angles better than other products on the market ... including maps featured in a number of ADK Trail Guide without wanting to offend anyone. the reason I say this because the map is consistent with the above 'as the series' guide, so the route number (with lots of information in full color) are on these cards as well.

I Get Mine laminated with super-thin sheets and keep them wrapped in a wicker basket ... Just to avoid wear and tear along the folds and so on.
